Bagels

Bagels are something I could literally live of off, so mastering making them from scratch with natural ingredients was fairly high on my priority list. Here’s my easy recipe for homemade Cinnamon Raisin Bagels, and I promise you that it easier than you think! Recipe Notes: The easiest way to do this is let to dough rise overnight. It’s extremely …

The Famous Pudding Recipe

I created this recipe from two different beloved & handed-down pudding recipes, with much trial & (delicious) error. I joke that it’s “famous” because this recipe never fails to bring attention to The Teacup Homestead, and because it’s truly the best pudding recipe out there! You can find it published in the Homemaker’s Table Cookbook under my former name of …

Here’s a cute little botanical-style reading list to help keep track of all the books you want to read this year. Personally, I’m more likely to interact with the lists I make if they’re pretty, so I created this to share with all the people who have the same sentiment. Just try it.

One of the best decisions I’ve made in my adult life is to indulge the things I’m interested in trying. I don’t necessarily have to master everything I try to do, but making and creating and trying something new is always so worthwhile – even if it doesn’t “go anywhere”. diy Natural Wood Finish

DIY natural wood sealer:

🐝1 part beeswax
🥥1 part coconut oil
🍋Few drops of lemon essential oil
➳Combine and melt in a saucepan
➳Apply to wood while melted or in a soft state

We applied this to our untreated planter bed, and it looks great!

We don’t use “treated” wood because the chemicals used to the treat the wood leech into the garden soil and the ground ☣️

Cloth Napkins

Question: How many disposable napkins do you use each day? Paper towels? How many plastic packages do you throw away? How much money do you spend each month on disposable items? I’ve said it before and I’ll it again: Homesteading isn’t only about raising chickens & collecting farm fresh eggs. 🌻It’s about being sustainable, reducing our impact on the planet, …

Chicken Dinner

Let’s talk about being sustainable, because it isn’t all about pretty blue eggs. It’s about making the decision NOT to buy unhealthy factory-farmed meats, and choosing to honor the happy & healthy birds raised at home. In a world SO painfully disconnected from where their food comes from, it’s important to reconnect and be gracious for the animal that gave …
